Chandigarh, Oct 15 (UNI) The Haryana Yuva Kisan Sangharsh Samiti has decided to undertake a 'padyatra' to Rashtrapati Bhawan from Godblawa village in Mahendergarh to seek the President's intervention in ensuring speedy construction of the Hansi-Butana canal.

Samiti president Naresh Yadav, MLA, today alleged that Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) supremo Om Prakash Chautala and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had colluded to obstruct the construction of the Hansi-Butana canal by taking the matter to court.

Mr Yadav said the Hansi-Butana project was initiated at the behest of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for equitable distribution of water in the wake of acute shortage of water in Mahendergarh district and other Southern parts of Haryana.

He alleged that earlier former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal and Mr Chautala fooled the people of the region in the name of the SYL canal and now Mr Chautala was colluding with Mr Badal to obstruct the construction of the Hansi-Butana canal.

He said before undertaking the 'padyatra' a public rally would be held at Godblawa and on the conclusion of the march in Delhi, a memorandum would be submitted to President Pratibha Patil to seek her intervention in the matter.
