Meghalaya cop wins essay competition

Shillong, Oct 14: Meghalaya's Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Commandant General of Home Guards and Civil Defence B R Rana has won the second prize in the Prime Minister's Silver Cup Essay Competition, 2007.

The competition was held among the serving police and central police organisations in the country.

It was organised by Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad on the subject 'Strengthening Basic Policing at Cutting Edge Level is the Critical aspect of National Security'.

A certificate of distinction and prize money were given to Mr Rana as award.
