Sinior IAS officer sent to four-day police custody

Shimla, Oct 9 (UNI) Senior IAS officer Subhash Auhluwalia was today sent to four-day police custody by Special Judge J L Gupta here.

DSP of Anti-corruption and Vigilance Bureau, Shimla, N K Sharma told UNI over phone that Auhluwalia, who was arrested from Panchkulla of Haryana by the bureau yesterday, was presented in front of Justice J L Gupta today.

He said the bureau demanded four-day police remand which was accepted by the court and asked them to present him before the court on October 13 for further hearing.

He said the bail application being presented by the counsel for Auhluwalia to Justice J L Gupta, which has been rejected would also be considered the same day.

Police brought Auhluwalia to Shimla yesterday from Panchkulla. He was hospitalised at DDU Hospital at Shimla after he suffered sudden health problems, from where he was referred to Indira Gandhi Medical Hospital and College Shimla for treatment in the evening.

Mr Sharma confirmed that Auhluwalia complained of chest pain and was given treatment.
