New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) Delhi Minister of Finance and Planning A K Walia today instructed the Department of Trade and Taxes to ensure there is no harassment of traders during this festival season.
He asked the Department of VAT to issue necessary instructions to its field staff to be more soft and courteous with traders.
''The inspectors will not visit any shop and not conduct any raid without prior permission of Commissioner. This decision has been taken because the traders of Delhi have been sincerely rendering cooperation,''Dr Walia said.
Dr Walia also appealed to all traders to continue issuing receipts of each and every sale and transaction, which they have been doing. This is helpful in maintaining mutual trust between the Department and traders. He said the Department of Trade and Taxes will become more trade-friendly.
The Minister expressed confidence that traders will concentrate themselves in enriching their business and hence contribute in substantial tax collection.
