Lightning kills 3 school kids in Chandrapur

Chandrapur, Maharashtra, Oct 7 (UNI) Three school children, including a girl, were killed and at least 11 others injured after being struck by lightning in Sewadas Nagar village in Jiwti tehsil of the district today.

According to police, the children were in their classrooms in the Zilla Parishad School in the village when the tragedy occurred this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Suryakant Pandurang Chavan (12), Chandrakant Balaji Pawar (12) and Jalna Jambu Madavi (12), they said.

Five of the children were seriously injured and rushed to a local hospital, while the other injured have been taken to the city hopsital.
