Keep fish away from plates in North Bihar
Patna, Oct 5: Keep fish at bay, however tempting and pocket-friendly they might seem to be.
This was the caution given by the Bihar government to the people residing in the flood-ravaged areas of North Bihar for hygienic reasons.
After the recession of flood water, the fishe surviving in the shallow waters were found to be highly infected with germs.
A state health department communique said with chances of contamination high in the flood water, consumption of fishe might lead to diarrhoea and other health problems.
Such health disorders were not uncommon in the flood-hit districts.
Apart from taking precautions before the intake of food, the communique suggested drinking of either boiled or chlorinated water.
