SP leader shot dead over enmity
Kaushambi, Oct 4 (UNI) A Samajwadi Party leader was shot dead by three motorcycle-borne criminals in Pooramufti area late last night, police said today.
Irked over the the incident, mob blocked the G T road for two hours and vandalised buses. The blockade was lifted after the senior police officials intervened into the matter.
According to police, the assailants fired upon Shaukat Jafri (45) who was an SP leader and District Panchayat member near Lohra village yesteray.
Jafri succumbed on the way to hospital.
A named FIR had been registered against three people and the reason of the crime was stated to be an old enimity.
