Ministry permits landing of private aircraft in Mysore for Dasara
Mysore, Oct 2 (UNI) The Union Civil Aviation Ministry has permitted landing of private aircraft during the Dasara Festivities at Mandali Airport in the outskirts of the City, Karnataka Minister for Rural Development, Panchayat Raj Shobha Karendalja said today.
Speaking to newsmen at the airport where she received micro light flying aircraft which landed for the first time in the new runway opened for operation.
Ms Karendalja, who is also District incharge Minister, said that the state government has asked the private operators to use landing facility to bring the tourists for Dasara celebrations.
She said the regular aircraft of ATR 72 would be start operation by January 2009. The airport facility was necessary in order to boost tourism in the Mysore and the Dasara festivities would also one such aspect to increase the infrastructure to at various tourist spots in and around the Mysore city, She added.
