Centre permits landing of private aircraft for Dasara

Mysore, Oct 2 (UNI) The Union Civil Aviation Ministry has permitted landing of private aircraft during the Dasara festivities at Mandali Airport on the outskirts of the city, Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Shobha Karendalja said today.

Speaking to mediapersons at the airport here, Ms Karendalja said the state government has asked the private operators to use landing facility to bring the tourists for Dasara celebrations.

She said the regular aircraft ATR 72 would start operation by January 2009. The airport facility was necessary in order to boost tourism in Mysore.

Dasara festivities is an occasion to develop the infrastructure at various tourist spots in and around the city, she added.
