Bihar joins rest of India to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti
Patna, Oct 2 (UNI) The people of Bihar today joined the rest of the nation in celebrating the 139th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi through various programmes.
The birth anniversary of the 'Father of the Nation' was celebrated with dignity and due solemnity and people took pledge to follow the path of non-violence as shown by 'Bapuji'.
Bihar Pradersh Congress leaders also celebrated the day as 'International Day of non-violence and peace', as declared by the United Nations.
A number of day-long programmes, including Sadbhabna rally and garlanding of the portrait and statues of Gandhiji by various leaders, had also been organised in different district headquarters and across the state to mark the day.
