MP: Devotees take holy dip in Kshipra river

Ujjain, MP, Sep 29: Thousands of devotees took a holy bath in Kshipra river in this ancient temple town on the occasion of 'Sarvapitra' and 'Somvati Amavasya' and offered prayers at various temples.

Pilgrims began gathering at Ram Ghat and other ghats since last night. After taking bath this morning, devotees offered prayers at various temples.

Also known as 'Bhutadi Amavasya', several devotees took dip at 52 'kund' in Kaliadeh Mahal premises, about 7 km from the town.

A long queue was seen at temples for offering milk at temples for the peace of 'pitra (ancestors)' during 'Shradh Paksha'.

Magistrates had been appointed at various temples and 'ghats' of the Kshipra river in order to maintain law and order.
