Punjab face Haryana in Narang Cup badminton final

Jalandhar, Sep 29 (UNI) Hosts Punjab will lock horns with Haryana for the Narang Cup (boys) in the North Zone Interstate Badminton Championships being played at the Raizada Hansraj Stadium here.

In the sem-final matches, Haryana and Punjab recorded an identical 2-0 wins over their respective rivals. Punjab defeated Himachal Pradesh and Haryana accounted for Delhi.

Love Kumar gave a winning start to Punjab as he defeated Nipunn 21-9, 21-9. The Punjab pair of Anand and Bob Sharma beat Ashish and Anuj 21-18, 21-18 in the doubles to clinch final berth.

Haryana gained 1-0 lead against Delhi as Ravi got the better of Kaustav Das 21-15,21-17. In doubles Haryana duo of Akshit and Gaurav edged out Parteek and Puneet 21-8, 21-15.

Delhi will meet Haryana in the final of Shafi Qureshi Cup for girls. In the semi-finals, Delhi beat Jammu and Kashmir 2-0 and Haryana prevailed over Himachal 2-1.
