'Thankhiew's surrender news rubbish'

Shillong, Sep 28: Meghalaya's Director General of Police B K Dey Sawian has rubbished media reports that the general secretary of the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council Cheristerfield Thangkhiew has surrendered before the police.

''There is nothing as such. There may be certain people who are trying to spread rumours on the matter,'' a local daily quoting Mr Sawian said.

A couple of days back, an Indian news agency reported that Thankhiew had surrendered before the police.
