Rs 2,000 cr package for Hyd-K'taka region: BSY
Bangalore, Sep 27 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today said a total package of Rs 2,000 crore for the development of Hyderabad-Karnataka region has been sanctioned for this year.
Mr Yeddyurappa told reporters here the decision on the allocation was taken at a special Cabinet meeting held at Gulbarga yesterday.
The Chief Minister said a committee, headed by him with seven Ministers as its members, will be set up to monitor implementation of the Cabinet decisions.
He said Mr Shashil Namoshi, MLA, was appointed to head the committee for effective implementation of the recommendation of the Nanjundappa Committee for the removal of regional imbalance.
He would be given Cabinet rank.
