Southwest monsoon vigorous in Orissa

Pune, Sep 25 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has been vigorous in Orissa, active in West Bengal and Rayalaseema and subdued in Assam and Meghalaya, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa, Chattisgarh, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in coastal West Bengal and coastal Orissa.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in West Bengal and at a few places in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, south Konkan and Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, north Tamil Nadu, coastal and north interior Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, north Konkan, north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, south Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail in Haryana, Punjab and west Rajasthan.

Heavy rains have occurred at many places in Orissa and at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in West Bengal and at Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep and a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, Bihar, east Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, coastal and north interior Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar.
