Invest funds in mines, Botswana HC urges industralists
Mumbai, Sep 25 (UNI) High Commissioner of the Republic of Botswana to India, Mrs Dorcas Ana Kgosietsile, has urged the Indian industralists to invest funds in the country's various mines like diamond, nickel and copper.
Addressing mediapersons here today, she said ''Botswana has huge mines of various minerals that are ideally located. There is a need to invest funds of at least USD ten lakh dollars (one USD is equal to six Pulas, the Bostswana's currency). At present, there are very few industries run by Indian operators, despite strong economy of Botswana. There is less criminal activity and the security is tight at every corner of Botswana. There is no panicky situation at the various mine sites in the country.'' She said besides the investments, there is a scope for trade and investment promotion, promotion of culture, tourism and other similar activities.
On the occasion, she appointed Vishal Shreyas Doshi as the country's honorary Consul in the city.
