Insurance employees extend support to striking bank employees Union

Shimla, Sep 25 (UNI) Employees of Life Insurance Corporation of India today extended their support to public sector bank employees who are observing two-day nation-wide strike on a call given by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) to protest merger, privatisation and foreign investment in PSBs.

North Zone Insurance Employees Association (NZIEA) Divisional Secretary, Devi Dass while addressing the LIC employees at LIC Divisional Office here today said that the insurance employees held lunch time demonstrations and rallies throughout the state today.

He said that the insurance employees decided to extend their support to bank employees in the state in response to call given by All India Insurance Employees Association.

Meanwhile, all the public sector banks in the state for the second day today remained deserted. Employees and officers of public sector banks did not attended work.
