Serbjit's sister and daughters meet Rahul

Ludhina, Sep 24 (UNI) The sister and daughters of death-row Indian prisoner Sarbjit Singh languishing in a Pakistani jail, today met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi here to press for his release.

Sarbjit's sister Dalbir Kaur and daughters swapandeep and Poonam met Congress general Secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi at Amaltas locality here and presented a memorandum seeking Sarbjit's release from Lahore's Kot Lakhpat jail.

Later, talking to newspersons, Dalbir Kaur said, ''though we could not have a proper meeting with him, Mr Gandhi accepted our request and promised to do whatever he can to help out my brother''.
