HAREDA signs MoUs to generate 12 MW power from solar energy
Chandigarh, Sep 24 (UNI) Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) today signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with six Independent Power Producers (IPPs) to generate 12 MW power from solar energy.
HAREDA diretor Sumita Misra signed the MoUs in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda with R S India Wind Energy, New Delhi and Astonfield Renewable Resources, Kolkatta each for setting up solar power projects of 3 MW capacity, with Epuron Renewable Energy, New Delhi and Azure Power India, New Delhi each for setting up solar power projects of 2 MW capacity. The investment in the projects with R S India Wind Energy and Astonfield Renewable Resources would cost about Rs 60 crore each and with Epuron Renewable Energy and Azure Power India about Rs 40 crore each.
In addition to these, MoUs had also been signed with Omax Auto, Gurgaon and Selecto Systems, Faridabad each for setting up solar power projects of one MW capacity. Both these projects would be set up at a cost of about Rs 20 crore each.
All these six projects would be set up by these power developers by December, 2009 with a total investment of about Rs 240 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the signing of the MoUs would help the state government to harness its abundant solar power generation potential.
The Chief Minister called upon the IPPs to commission the systems at the earliest and assured them all help from the state government.
