Ex MLA, villagers observe fast before Raj Nivas

Puducherry, Sep 24: Former legislator P Rajavelu, along with several people from Kirumambakkam village today observed a fast in front of the Rajnivas.

They sat on a fast to protest the eviction of 35 families from a government land where the families were residing for the past 85 years.

Meanwhile, the adminstration made arrangements to provide alternative sites to those who were evicted.

Mr Rajavelu along with nearly 100 people were arrested two days ago when they objected to the eviction process.
