No coercive step against Soren till further court order
Ranchi, Sep 20 (UNI) Jharkhand High Court today directed the district court of Jamshedpur not to take any coercive step against Chief Minister Sibu Soren till further court order in connection with the violation of model code of conduct in 1999.
Mr Justice D K Sinha passed the order after hearing the writ petition filed by Mr Soren.
In 1999, Mr Soren, also an MP, with his party worker had gone to garland the statue of Nirmal Mahto at Jamshedpur, a senior party activist, who was killed by miscreants.
The district administration immediately took action against him and lodged complaint for violation of model code of conduct.
In its earlier order, the Jamshedpur court asked Mr Soren to appear personally as and when hearing of the case was taken up.
However, Mr Soren filed the writ petition before Jharkhand High Court, challenging the order.
