Varsities told to conduct exams on schedule

Bhopal, Sep 19 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has directed all universities of the state to conduct examinations as per academic calendar under the semester system.

In a circular issued here today, the government lamented that some the universities were not adhering to the academic calendar approved by the Chancellor and conducting examinations at its whims without informing the higher education department.

Introduction of semester system was aimed at improving the quality of education and bringing in uniformity, it pointed out.

Higher Education Commissioner Ashish Upadhyay has directed the universities to conduct the examinations on schedules or else their cases would be forwarded to the Chancellor for disciplinary action.

The circular was issued to all the registrars of universities.
