Tribal elected reps raise issue of plight of tribals with Guv
Mumbai, Sep 19 (UNI) A 35-member delegation of elected representatives from tribal areas of Maharashtra today met Governor S C Jamir and raised the issue of plight of tribals.
The delegation was led by former Union minister Manikrao Gavit, former minister and MLA Shivajirao Moghe and Madhukarrao Pichad.
The delegation raised the issues of lack of education, infrastructure and medical facilities, which lead to malnourishment of the children.
They also pointed out that the meeting of the tribal advisory committee, constituted under chief minister, was not held for last many years.
The Governor assured that he would look into the matter, a Raj Bhavan release said here today.
