'Op Sadbhavna' brings Ladakh girls to Punjab

Jalandhar, Sep 19 (UNI) A group of 30 girl students reached here today as a part of Education Tour under Op Sadbhavana' being conducted by Army for the children of Batalik region of Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir.

Majority of these girls are Buddhist belonging to the ethnic minority known as Brogpas or Red Aryans' a fiercely independent ethnic group, known for their pure Aryan descent.

Accompanied by a woman teacher, met Manju Tonk, President Vajra AWWA at the welcome ceremony at Jalandhar Cantt, who interacted with the girls and shared views on national integration and role army playing in bringing prosperity and awareness in the remote areas.

The Girls, who presented local folk dances, were exuberant about the experience and expressed gratitude to the Army for providing them such an opportunity to come out and explore the world outside their remote homes.
