Miscreants attack place of worship at Moorje

Mangalore, Sep 19 (UNI) In a fresh incident, miscreants attacked a place of worship, even as the Karnataka Government, bowing to pressure, ordered a judicial inquiry into the attacks on places of worship in various parts of the State on September 14.

The miscreants damaged the glass cover of a statue fixed to the wall outside a place of worship situated on Bantwal-Poonjalkatte Road at Moorje under Venoor Police Station limits today.

According to police, a motorcycle-borne miscreant came to the place of worship in the wee hours and broke the glass cover of the statue.

He escaped after realising that some youth were guarding the place of worship, constructed five years ago.

Police have registered a case.
