Singur incidents not to have any impact on investment plan:Jajodia
Kolkata, Sep 15(UNI) The Jai Balaji Group, going to undertake a mega project in West Bengal, today said the Singur incidents would not have any impact on its investment plan in the state.
" What is happening in Singur is an isolated case. It will have no impact on us," Chairman and Managing Director Managing Director Aditya Jajodia told reporters after a meeting with Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee at the state Secretariat.
Mr Jajodia said the company would start in November its work in the first phase for the proposed integrated steel plant at Raghunathpur in Purulia district involving a total investment of Rs 16,000 crore.
The five-lakh ton steel plant is expected to be completed in the next three years.
In reply to a question, Mr Jajodia said the company required altogether 3,880 acres of land out of which 800 acres had been acquired. Efforts were on for getting the rest of the land.
He said the company had decided to provide job to one member from each of the families affected by land acquisition for the project.
