DMDK offers to provide one lakh jobs to youth
Chennai, Sep 14 (UNI) The fledgling Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) of actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth, which entered into the fourth year of its existence today, offered to provide one lakh jobs to the youths across Tamil Nadu.
Talking to newspersons to mark the party's fourth founding day, DMDK Founder Vijayakanth said youths could approach the respective district secretaries of the party irrespective of their qualification and register their names for the jobs.
He said the party would also provide 100 autorickshaws on interest-free loans to encourage self-employment. Those having a valid licence and permit were eligible to avail the autorickshaws that would be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis.
He also had a dig at the DMK government's Rs one-a-kg rice scheme to be launched tomorrow and said the scheme was being launched with an eye on the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.
''It's a poll-gimmick,'' he charged.
