Lucknow, Sep 13 (UNI) The Central Intelligence agency in the past had issued two advisories in August on possibility of terror attacks in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh following a ban on the Students Islamic Movement of India(SIMI) by the Center, sources said.
According to sources, the first advisory was issued by the agency on August 8 on likely threat of terrorist attack in the national capital after the ban on SIMI was imposed by the Centre.
However, the agency issued another advisory after the arrest of Abu Bashir and Shahbaz Hussain for their involvement in the Jaipur and Ahmedabad serial blasts.
The agency had cautioned the Uttar Pradesh police of possible terrorist acts on the backdrop of the arrest of these two terrorists.
''Action against SIMI was again said to be the main reason for the terrorist group to attack UP and Delhi'', the advisory said.
The sources said UP government had already taken several steps to counter any terrorist attack.
