2 Indians among Dubai helicopter crash
Dubai, Sep 13: Two Indian nationals are among the seven victims who died in a helicopter crash on Wednesday, Sep 3 at an offshore oil rig, according to Dubai Petroleum. Releasing the names of the victims on Friday, Dubai Petroleum was quoted by the Gulf News as saying that one of the Indian nationals was Jayant Ingale, a staffer with Baker Hughes Incorporated. The second one was identified Julius Alex Pereira, who worked for Noble Drilling.
The other five victims were identified as Briton Captain Christopher Brown and Captain Luis Lovera from Venezuela, who worked for Aerogulf Services, Briton Adam Rae Duff, Pakistani Shuja Ur Rehman and Filipino Disodado Buhangin, who worked with Production Services Network.
"The companies express their condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their lives and will focus their combined efforts on supporting all of those who have been affected by this tragedy," the paper quoted a joint statement, as saying.
The relatives of the deceased were notified on September 4 and many of them are already in Dubai or are currently en route to the emirate, it added.
