Somnath donates salary to Assam flood victims
New Delhi, Sep 12 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today expressed deep sympathy for flood victims in Assam and donated his salary and an additional amount of Rs 25,000 for their relief and rehabilitation.
According to a Lok Sabha Secretariat for release, the one month salary of the Speaker and a cheque Rs 25,000, drawn in favour of ''The Chief Minister's Relief Fund'', was sent by Mr Chatterjee to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi directly.
