HC grants two week stay on publication of agreement
Kolkata, Sep 12 (UNI) Calcutta High Court today granted a two-week stay on publication of the agreement between the West Bengal government and Tata Motors on setting up of the world's cheapest car project at Singur.
Justice Depankar Dutta issued the ruling on a petition filed by the Tatas.
The case will again come up for a hearing on next Friday.
The country's auto major Tata Motors moved the petition claiming that the agreement should not be published for the interest of the business.
The state government, however, published a part of the agreement on Monday last bowing down to the Opposition Trinamool Congress.
The government also handed out a portion of the agreement to Chairman of the West Bengal Assembly's standing committee on industry Sudip Bandopadhyay.
