22 district hospitals coming up at a cost of Rs 457.92 crore
Srinagar, Sep 12 (UNI) An amount of Rs 457.92 crore was being spent on the construction of 22 district and sub-district hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman said today.
The hospitals are expected to be completed by the end of this financial year, he said.
He said the mega hospital building projects included Rs 57 crore district hospital, Anantnag, Rs 48 crore district hospital, Baramulla, Rs 37 crore district hospital, Kulgam, Rs 37 crore district hospital Bandipora, Rs 42 crore Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Hospital, Rainawari and Rs 38 crore sub-district hospital, Sopore.
Other district and sub-district hospitals including additional blocks in the existing ones are nearing completion at SMGS Hospital Jammu, Jammu and Srinagar Dental Colleges, OPD block in Gandhi Nagar Hospital Jammu, district hospitals at Doda, Poonch, Kishtwar, Kathua, Rajouri and Kupwara and sub-district hospitals at Bhaderwah, Sarwal, Shopian and Pulwama.
He said the government has taken up construction of nearly 200 health institutions in hand in the state. Of these, 35 health centres are nearing completion.
In addition, 22 primary health centres at a cost of Rs 33 crore have also been completed in the valley.
