Passenger caught travelling on fake PH certificate
Nagpur, Sep 10 (UNI) The Central Railway (CR) authorities here caught a passenger travelling with a fake certificate of the physically handicapped (PH).
Passenger, identified as Mohammed Hanif, was travelling with a fare concession in a sleeper class coach on 2105 Mumbai-Gondia Vidarbha Express, a Central Railway (CR) spokesman here said.
A flying squad caught Hanif during a check between Wardha and Nagpur last month, he said.
When his ticket was checked, Hanif produced a PH certificate purportedly issued by the Resident Medical Officer of Parabhani (Maharashtra), the spokesman said. Upon verification, it was found that the signature of the RMO had been forged, he said.
The case has been handed over to the local unit of the Government Railway Police (GRP), which has registered an offence against Hamid, he added.
