Help Bihar flood victims: Vilasrao Deshmukh

Mumbai, Sep 10: Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has appealed to citizens, voluntary organistions and entrepreneurs from the state to donate generously for the flood affected people from Bihar.

For this, a separate Savings Account has been opened in the name of Chief Minister's Relief Fund (Bihar) in the Reclamation Branch of State Bank of India under the public trust for Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Cheques can be sent in the name of Chief Minister's Relief Fund (Bihar) and the donors will get tax exemption, an official release issued here today said.

Arrangements have been made to accept the cheques at Mantralaya and District Collector or Tehsildar office.

Meanwhile, Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has thanked Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh for extending immediate help in this hour of need by sending 22 rescue teams headed by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner R A Rajiv to Bihar, the release said.
