Dayanidhi Maran donates Rs 50 lakh to Bihar flood victims
Chennai, Sep 10 (UNI) Former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran today announced a relief of Rs 50 lakh and his one month's salary to the flood ravaged Bihar, where 23 lakh people were hit by the calamity.
In a statement here, Mr Maran said as an MP of the Central Madras Constituency, he was donating Rs 50 lakhs from the MPLAD fund and his one month's salary for relief works in Bihar.
He said he also wrote letters to Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad in this regard.
