Anganwadi Staff Assn refutes allegation

Puducherry, Sep 10 (UNI) Puducherry Anganwadi Staff Association today refuted the allegation that Anganwadi staffs were not performing their job properly.

Addressing a press conference here, association President Vijayalakshmi and Secretary S Thilagam pointed out that apart from their regular works, the Anganwadi staffs have to distribute old-age pension, take census of cattles, voters' list, among other works, hampering their routine jobs.

They alleged that their payment was not properly disbursed, rent for the centers not paid for the past five months and the amount spent for purchase of firewood and vegetables for the last five months were not cleared.
