Expell senior former minister, Congress leaders to Sonia
Srinagar, Sep 9 (UNI) Senior Congress leaders of the valley have appealed Congress president Sonia Gandhi to expel former Jammu and Kashmir minister Abdul Gani Vakil from the party.
Threatening a revolt, more than a dozen senior leaders, including senior vice president of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Mohammad Muzaffar Parray, two vice presidents and former minister demanded Mr Vakil's expulsion from the party for his anti-party activities.
The leaders said Mr Vakil was time and again breaching the discipline of the party by issuing unnecessary statements without consulting the party leaders.
They alleged that Vakil was trying to weaken the party by his false propaganda against the party leadership. This, they said, was being done by Mr Vakil at the behest of some vested interests.
