Tremors felt in Delhi, parts of Northwest India

New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) Mild tremors were felt in North west India this morning even as an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale struck Afghanistan's Hindu Kush region.

The quake, centred at 36.7 degrees North latitude and 70.6 degress East longitude, occurred at about 1118 hours (IST).

Reports from Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir said people rushed out of their houses in panic when the quake occurred.

In the capital, the impact was not so strong, though many people in tall buildings felt the tremors.
