Security tightened in view of tomorrow's Kalaspuja
Bhubaneswar, Sep 6 (UNI) The authorities today sealed all the entry points to the riot-hit Kandhamal district in view of the proposed 'Kalaspuja' to be held at Chakapada Ashram tomorrow to pay homage to slain VHP leader Swami Laxamananda Saraswati.
Swamiji was gunned down along with four of his disciples in his Jalaspeta Ashram in Kandhamal district on August 23.
Kandhamal district Collector Krishna Kumar said Prohibotory orders U/S 144 Cr Pc was imposed and more than 30 companies of CRPF, Rapid Action Force and Orissa State Armed Police were deployed at various vantage points to prevent any untoward incident.
Mr Kumar said curfew was in force in some areas like Tikabali and Udaygiri as a precautionary measures.
Meanwhile, Swami Laxamananda Saraswati Shradhanjali Samiti members said hundreds of sadhus from different parts of the state would congregate at the Ashram to pay homage to the slain saint.
A ''Shradhanjali Sabha'' organised to pay homage to the slain seer passed off peacefully without any untoward incident here today.
