Heroin worth Rs 30 crore seized from 81-year-old man
Ludhiana, Sep 6 (UNI) The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) today seized 6 kg heroin and arrested two people, including an 81-year-old man, near Satluj river bridge on NH-1 in the outskirts of Ludhiana.
According to DRI sources, the seized drug was worth Rs 30 crore in the international market.
Two persons identified as 81-year-old Ratan Singh, who had been been involved in drug smuggling from last many years, and 50-year-old Puran Singh, both from Ludhiana, were nabbed while they were taking the consignment in a car from Fatehgarh Churian in Gurdaspur to Delhi. In Delhi they had to deliver the heroin to an Afghan national.Both of them were booked under the NDPS Act.
