Another cheating complaint lodged against IAS officer, wife

Panaji, Sep 6 (UNI) Goan NGO Utt Goenkara's spokesman Advocate Aires Rodrigues today lodged another complaint of cheating against Goa's former IT Secretary R P Pal and his wife Ms Putul Pal.

The duo are facing similar charges under Panjim police station, where the cops are investigating into the matter. Mr Pal was recently transferred to Lakshadweep.

In his complaint with the Porvorim Police Station, Mr Rodrigues stated that the couple were fraudulently drawing from the Secretariat funds the salary of a non existent NMR (Non Muster Roll) worker in the name of Ms Mayarani Sharma.

Mr Rodrigues told the police that no person by the name of Mayarani Sharma was working at the residence of Mr Pal and that he was informed by the Director of Provedoria that the servant working at the Pal residence at Altinho was one Ms Rekha Kambli, whose wages were paid by the Provedoria department.

The arrangement of receiving the amount fraudulently in the name of Ms Mayarani Sharma from the cashier at Porvorim Secretariat was allegedly done at the instance of Mr Pal by misusing his authority with criminal intent, the complaint said.

The complainant had also urged the police to also interrogate Mr Bonifacio Fernandes, a labourer formerly working at the Pal residence and now working at Ela Farm, Old Goa, Ms Rekha Kambli, contract worker at the Directorate of Provedoria and one Ms Gauri Mohanty, staying at the staff quarters of PWD Minister at Althinho.
