Justice Radhakrishnan sworn in as chief justice of High Court

Gandhinagar, Sep 4 (UNI) Justice K S Radhakrishnan was sworn in as Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court at a function held at the Raj Bhawan here today.

Governor Nawal Kishore Sharma administered the oath of office to Justice Radhakrishnan.

Justice Radhakrishnan was earlier the chief justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court.

Acting Chief Justice M S Shah, Gujarat Legislative Assembly Speaker Ashok Bhatt, Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Law Minister Amit Shah, Cabinet Ministers, Judges, Chief Secretary Dr Manjula Subramaniam and top officials were present on the occasion.

Justice Y R Meena retired from the post on June 30 this year.

After that, Justice M S Shah was oppointed as the acting Chief Juustice of the High Court.

Justice Radhakrishnan was a member of Faculty of Law, Cochin University of Science and Technology and Fellow of ICPS, New Delhi, besides having functioned as Research Scholar under Dr S N Jain of Indian Law Institute, New Delhi.

He was appointed as a Judge of the Kerala High Court in May 1995. He also served an acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court before moving to the J &K High Court in January this year.
