3 smugglers held with heroin worth Rs 3 crore

Gorakhpur, Sep 3: Special Task Force (STF) arrested three smugglers with 3 kg of heroin in Gorakhnath area here on Tuesday, Sep 2, police said on Wednesday, Spe 3.

The drug seized was estimated at Rs 3 crore in the international market.

On a tip-off, STF team nabbed three motorcycle-borne near Dharamshala Bazar and seized seven packets of the drug from their possession.

Besides, three mobile, an ATM card, two motorcycles, a 32-bore licenced revolver and six cartridges were also seized.

The culprits were identified as Pawan Kumar Mishra, Bhadeshwar Nath Mishra and Durgesh Kumar Tripathi.

Among the three, Durgesh was reportedly an MA student and student leader at a PG college in Sant Kabirnagar.
