Security tight for 'Ganeshotsav' festival Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Sep 2 (UNI) Close on the heels of serial blasts in Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Bangalore and in Hydersbad last year, the police have made elaborate security arrangements to ensure peaceful celebration of the 10-day 'Ganeshotsav' festival, commencing tomorrow and also for the month long Ramzan which commenced today.
In a statement, City Commissioner of Police B Prasada Rao said 14,477 police personnel of the Hyderabad city police would be deployed for bandobust at Ganesh pandals, mosques, important junctions, immersion points and other places .
Apart from deployment of Hyderabad city police, 11,548 security personnel including 5408 Civil force, 220 Home Guards 160 platoons of armed forces from all over the state would be deployed.
He said 178 hyper sensitive and 505 sensitive places had been identified for which pickets would be posted. 239 mobile parties would be organised for smooth conduct of both the festivals.
