Control communal violence in Orissa: Ramadass
Puducherry, Sep 2: PMK Parliamentary Party Leader and State Secretary M Ramadass on Tuesday, Sep 2 called upon the Centre and the Orissa Government to control communal violence in the State with an iron hand.
Addressing a press conference here, Prof Ramadass said killing of innocent people under communal violence could not be tolerated and an insecure situation prevailed in the country.
Urging the new government in Puducherry, which would assume office on September four, to find ways and means to tide over the prevailing financial crisis, Prof Ramdass said as a Member of Parliament from Puducherry,he was prepared to help the State Government in getting any assistance from the Centre.
Greeting Chief Minister-designate V Vaithilingam on behalf of the PMK, Prof Ramadass said he was a well-experienced politician and capable of keeping up the culture of Puducherry.
On the B2 status granted to the Puducherry Town,he said the government employees in Puducherry and Ozhukarai Municipality Areas would get house rent allowance enhanced to 20 per cent from the present 7.5 per cent.
However, their city compensatory allowance of 2.5 percent of their basic pay will not be there hereafter.
The government employees in other communes here and in Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam Regions would get ten per cent HRA,he added.
