Christians hold fast on Kandhamal incident
Tiruchirapalli, Sep 2 (UNI) Hundreds of members belonging to the Tiruchirapalli Unit of the Minorities Forum, District Catholic Centre and other Christian organisations observed a day's fast here today to condemn the attacks on institutions run by Christian missionaries in Kandhamal district of Orissa in the last few days.
Forum Zonal president J J L Ganaraj told newspersons, the forum had already started sending letters and telegrams to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and AICC president Sonia Gandhi asking them to ensure safety and security of the Minorities in the state.
He said black flags were hoisted in all churches and houses of Christian Minorities in and around Tiruchirpalli.
Catholic Centre Coordinator and Former MLA A Malarmannan said it was high time for the Centre to put an end to the continuing attacks against the Chrisitian Minorities in Orissa.
Leaders of various political parties and religious heads spoke on the occasion.
