RMC signs MoU with corporates, banks to beautifying city
Rajkot, Aug 31 (UNI) As part of the city beautification project under Public-Private Partnership (PPP), the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with several corporates and banks.
As per the plan, Rs 1.94 crore will be spent to beautify roads and Rs 1.08 crore on traffic junctions, city mayor Sandhyaben Vyas said at a function yesterday.
Industrialists, banking and financial institutions, builders, Health organisations and education institutes will share 40, 12, 24, 15 and five per cents of the cost respectively in the project.
Moreover under the ''Project Green Rajkot'', trees will be planted on the sides of 24.3 km-long stretch of road at an estimated coast of Rs 3.4 crore. Under the project 1.10 lakh trees will be planted in the city, the mayor said.
