Minister urges for Bharat Ratna Award to Gangubai Hangal
Hubli, Aug 31 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Wakfs today urged the Union Government to confer Bharat Ratna Award to renowned Hindustani vocalist Gangubai Hangal for her contribution to Music.
Talking to newsmen after visiting Ms Gangubai Hangal in her house, he said that the State government would recommend her name for the award.
He lauded the services rendered by Ms Gangubai Hangal and said that her contribution for Hindustani music was simply great.
