Dispute between Maharashtra CM and Revenue Minister ends

Kolhapur, Aug 31 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Manikrao Thackre today said the differences between Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and State Revenue Minister Narayan Rane have ended.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Thackre, on his maiden visit here after being appointed as the MPCC chief, said the issue was resolved by party high command.

The two leaders were allgedly at logger-heads over the issue of chief ministership. On several occasions, the party high command had indicated a change in the leadership.

Mr Rane, who was being projected as the chief ministerial candidate by some of the Congress legislators, had recently threatened to quit the cabinet after the state government alloted a piece of land to a private company at lower rates in Vashi near Mumbai.
