Blast in Bannu claims eight lives

Islamabad, Aug.28 : At least eight people have been killed and several others injured when a police van was blown up with explosives near Karam bridge in Bannu on Thursday.

According to The News, the police van was traveling to a jail from the police lines when it was hit by explosives. The intensity of the blast was so high that the van was propelled into an adjoining river.

The injured and the bodies were shifted to Bannu Hospital.

Many of the injured are reported to be still in a critical state.

Police are investigating the incident.
